THE PEACE BROTHER DUDES

The Peace Brother Dudes were a short-lived instrumental improvised jam rock band with members of The Titfaces.

Although after show Eternal Nightmare jams playing Loop and Danzig covers were referred to as PeaceBrotherDudes as early as April 1990, The Peace Brother Dudes mentioned here started October 8, 1993. This line-up consisted of bassplayer Marco (a.o. bassist for The Titfaces), drummer Jack (later a.o. Toner Low drummer and Only Entertainment guitarist) and guitarist Danny (at the time on guitar in The Titfaces). The three visited a jam night at the Twilight Zone venue in Wassenaar. At a certain point they decided to get on stage to put up a jam as well, using the on stage drum kit and backline and the instruments and effect pedals of musicians who had played earlier that night.

Without having prepared anything beforehand, they began improvising some instrumental space rock. Inspiration came from the opening track of Monster Magnet's Tab album and maybe the Pink Floyd song Interstellar Overdrive. The second jam gig took place on February 18, 1994, again at Twilight Zone in Wassenaar. In between these live dates the band didn't do any rehearsals and the line-up remained the same. Only those two gigs were done and no studio recordings were made (although the first live jam was videotaped). The Peace Brother Dudes may be viewed as a very early predecessor of Toner Low (featuring Jack on drums and Danny on guitar).
